Dive into the wonderful and masterful works of author Alfredo Véa. You should firstly do this if you like quality literary fiction. We are also entering Hispanic Heritage Month and October is Filipino American History month, a perfect crossover.

Véa’s works employ comic book realism (literary fiction that exercises an evolution of Latin American magical realism). His heritage of Mexican-Yaqui-Filipino-American roots, coupled with his farm worker, Vietnam veteran, and lawyer background, and coupled with a nod to alchemy and Gnosticism, imbue his works with rich layers. It’s catnip for a reader and writer like myself. My favorite author. Give this master the accolades he deserves. Greeks: he uses the Anitkythera mechanism. Rally for the phillhelene.

Noting his work as a lawyer. I can’t find where it got cut off in my video, but in his work you see its emphasis and lives put on trial: if you can’t tell your own story, you’re screwed. So many lawyers are good storytellers.
