This fun five-page full color comic created by artist Seth Christian Martel and writer Stephanie Nina Pitsirilos is a Scooby-Doo story meets colonial history of Puerto Rico and its link to today’s environmental degradation, displacement, and “puertopian” cryptocurrency. Its setting is a modern Puerto Rico that:
- shows the legacy of the US Navy bombing Vieques
- Environmental degradation
- Hybrid of populace that includes local residents of Puerto Rican descent, Libertarians and “Crypto-Bros” not of Puerto Rican descent, Puerto Rican diaspora, vacationing tourist.
- Past to future: Pirate culture of 1492 as relates to tax laws of today’s commonwealth status
- Vanity traps and delights of selfies
- Tradition of griot storytelling
- Male heterosexual jocking.
